Clinical Hypnotherapy

Clinical hypnotherapy is a therapeutic approach that uses focused attention, imagination, and the mind-body connection to support meaningful change. I offer online clinical hypnotherapy across British Columbia as part of an individualized counselling approach.

Hypnosis is focused attention. It is a natural process experienced by all without realizing it. Any time you daydream or are in the zone; any time you are so focused on a book that you become less aware of your surroundings; when you drive a familiar route and arrive without remembering the journey, that’s hypnosis.

Clinical hypnotherapy is focusing attention on purpose with a therapeutic goal in mind.

It is the use of hypnosis by a trained professional in order to assist someone to make the changes they wish to make. It is a practice of co-creation, with myself as the guide, and you as the meaning maker. I combine hypnotic techniques into your broader treatment plan for a holistic and practical approach.

Clinical hypnosis is about helping you take control of the parts of your life that don’t have to be out of control any more. You are encouraged to use your imagination and to find resources within which you may not have been previously aware. Sometimes meaningful change begins with reconnecting with parts of yourself that have been quiet, overlooked, or pushed aside. Hypnotherapy can create space to explore those parts with curiosity, compassion, and imagination—so that you can begin to reclaim more freedom, choice, and possibility in your life.

This is a somatic therapy that works in tandem with your mind–body-spirit connection rather than focusing on conscious thoughts. By bringing attention to how patterns are experienced in the moment—through emotions, attention, and physiological responses—we can work directly with the processes that sustain them.

Unlike approaches that focus primarily on managing symptoms, clinical hypnosis can explore and shift the underlying patterns that shape how we respond. This allows the nervous system to develop new responses supporting lasting change.

"Since most problems are created by our imagination and are thus imaginary, all we need are imaginary solutions."
